Description

Cycle Chemistry Guidelines on sample points and minimum levels of on-line chemical monitoring instrumentation for steam and water cycle chemistry control in fossil, combined cycle / HRSG, and industrial power plants. Customization for each type of plant is provided.

Revision History

  • This Technical Guidance Document was adopted by IAPWS in 2012, replacing the version of 2009. The revisions were minor and did not constitute significant changes to the scope of the document or to the guidance therein.
  • In 2015, a revision was adopted to add guidance for Heat Recovery Steam Generators (HRSGs) that start frequently and those that are required to fast start.
  • In 2024, a revision was adopted to update some of the information and to extend the scope of the document to industrial plants.

This Technical Guidance Document is the product of the Working Group "Power Cycle Chemistry" (PCC) of the International Association for the Properties of Water and Steam (IAPWS).
