This document contains Cycle Chemistry Guidelines and processes for the application of film forming amines (FFA) and Film Forming Amine Products (FFAP) in fossil and combined cycle / HRSG power plants.

Revision History

• This Technical Guidance Document was originally adopted by IAPWS in 2016.
• The 2019 revision brought the nomenclature of Film Forming Substance (FFS) up to date to be in line with other IAPWS TGD. There are no technical changes to the original TGD, but additional references have been added as well as information from the three IAPWS International Conferences on FFS in 2017, 2018, and 2019.

This Technical Guidance Document is the product of the Working Group "Power Cycle Chemistry" (PCC) of the International Association for the Properties of Water and Steam (IAPWS).
