In July 2004, Academic Press (a subsidiary of Elsevier) published the book Aqueous Systems at Elevated Temperatures and Pressures: Physical Chemistry in Water, Steam and Hydrothermal Solutions, edited by Donald A. Palmer, Roberto Fernández-Prini, and Allan H. Harvey (with a Foreword from Prof. E.U. Franck, who initially championed the project). This book was the result of several years of effort on an IAPWS-sponsored project to bring together expert presentations of state-of-the-art knowledge on experimental techniques and data analysis, fundamental theory and modeling, and applications of the physical chemistry of high-temperature aqueous systems.
Several chapters of the book cover foundational thermophysical properties (such as gas and solid solubility, phase behavior, thermodynamic properties of solutes, and transport properties) that are of wide interest. Others cover fundamental areas of more specialized interest, such as critical phenomena and molecular-level solution structure. Several chapters are addressed to specific application areas, such as hydrothermal reactions (kinetics and equilibria) and the steam power industry.
More information about the book, including ordering information, may be found at Elsevier's website.
