The title of "Honorary Fellow of the International Association for the Properties of Water and Steam" is conferred in recognition of outstanding contributions to the Association. Nominations may be made by any Member (national committee) of IAPWS. A committee, consisting of two past recipients of the award plus the IAPWS President, reviews the nominations and selects a maximum of two candidates per year; these candidates must then be ratified by the Members.
